MISSHA M Perfect Cover B.B. Cream

B.B. Cream, also known as Blemish Balm, was initially created for laser surgery patients to aid in protecting and providing light coverage for scars and blemishes that are still healing. It is now a cosmetic item that is gaining popularity due to its amazing skin healing properties. According to Squidoo.com, bb cream initially gained popularity when famous South Korean actresses used the formula as a cosmetic product. Soon after, Japan and South East Asia began using it too with Europe and the USA soon to follow. It is now available for purchase with multiple brands sold at Sephora.

I am reviewing a bb cream from Korean cosmetics brand Missha. This product claims to offer skin-lightening properties through healing visible wrinkles and blemishes. It also claims that it offers excellent coverage and prevents skin from aging. This product retails at $29.99 on the Missha website for a 50ml tube with a convenient built-in pump. It comes in five varying shades, No. 31 (Golden Beige), No. 13 (Milky Beige), No. 21 (Light Beige), No. 23 (Natural Beige), and No. 27 (Honey Beige).

I have the product in No. 27 (Honey Beige) and No. 23 (Natural Beige). As you can tell from the swatches, the No. 23 shade appears to have a slight grey tint while the No. 27 shade appears more tan. When applied, shade No. 23 is a touch lighter than shade No. 27 and can easily be blended out. This product provides medium coverage and can easily be applied with any makeup brush or more simply with your fingers. I think it does a great job at concealing and evening out my skin tone, but more importantly, it provides a natural skin-like finish making it look as though I'm wearing absolutely no foundation. This bb cream has a moist finish so setting it with a powder is a must. Although the SPF 42 in it is great for protecting skin from harmful UV rays, it unfortunately causes a white cast over my face where the product is worn during flash photography.

Despite the white cast, I adore this bb cream overall. I love that it has a built-in pump for an easy, clean, and sanitary dispensing of the product. Not only is it super easy to blend, I find that the coverage is excellent and flawless making it a great alternative to foundation. If over time it really lives up to its claims of healing and anti-aging then this product is for sure money well spent.
